This page explains what data the kino-tv.co website and the Kino app ("Kino", "we") collect, why, and what your rights are. We kept it short and readable, without needless jargon.

Who is the data controller?

The kino-tv.co website and the Kino app waitlist are operated by the Kino team. For any question about your data, write to us at stephane@kino-tv.co.

What data do we collect?

Waitlist and beta: your email address, your phone number (optional), your language, your platform (iOS or Android), the page you signed up from and the signup date. This data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure.

Site tools (TV Time stats, binge time…): the files you upload are processed in your browser or for the duration of the request; they are not kept on our servers.

We never sell or rent your data to third parties.

Why this data?

To send you your beta invite, let you know when the app launches and, if you agreed, share Kino news with you. Nothing else.

Legal basis: your consent, given at signup. You can withdraw it at any time (unsubscribe link in every email, or a simple email request).

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used (page views, journeys, devices). These tools only run after you give consent through the cookie banner.

You can refuse or withdraw consent at any time: the site works exactly the same without analytics cookies.

Hosting and processors

The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which also hosts the waitlist database (Cloudflare D1).

Our other processors: Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Google Workspace email) and Microsoft (Clarity). Series and movie information shown on the site comes from TMDB; no personal data is shared with them.

How long do we keep your data?

Waitlist signups are kept until the app launches, then for a maximum of 3 years after your last contact with us. You can request deletion at any time.

Account deletion

You can delete your Kino account and all associated data directly from the app:

  1. Open Kino and sign in to your account
  2. Go to Settings > Account
  3. Select "Delete my account"
  4. Confirm your password to validate the deletion

This action is irreversible and immediately and permanently deletes: your profile, your watch history, your ratings and comments, your custom lists, your profile photos and all your tracking data.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data.

To exercise these rights, write to stephane@kino-tv.co: we reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
